Setting for Best Performance

Here is a quick little tweak you can do to both Windows Vista and XP that will automatically set your PC to run at its best performance.

The trouble with Vista is that it is so full of graphics and animations that it effects the performance of your PC, so if you are someone who doesn’t care about the looks of something but just want performance, then this tweak is for you.

Just follow these pointers and you will have your PC running at its best performance;

Windows Vista

  • Go to control panel
  • Click system
  • Click advanced system settings
  • Click the advanced tab
  • Under performance click settings
  • Check on best performance
  • Click apply and OK
Best Performance

Windows XP

  • Right click on my computer
  • Click properties
  • Click the advanced tab
  • Click settings under performance
  • Check adjust for best performance
  • Click apply and OK
Best Performance Windows XP

Edit System Icons in Vista

Posted on August 6th, 2008 in General Issues, Shortcuts / Hints, System Settings by admin

System icons are located in the right hand side of your task bar and include things like the clock and the volume. You probably wouldn’t have paid much attention to them, but you would definitely notice if they were missing.

I personally look at that clock all the time at work hoping it goes a little faster but it never does!

If you want to edit what system icons show up then just follow this;

  • Right click on your task bar
  • Select properties
  • Click on the notification area tab
  • Here you can select what system icons are to be showed and not
  • Done
