List of Device Drivers

Here is an easy and quick way that you can get a complete list of the drivers that are installed on your PC. To get the total list of drivers on your PC you can just do the following;

(This will work on both Windows XP and Windows Vista)

  • Click start
  • Type run in the start search box
  • Click cmd in the run box and press enter
  • On the command line type in driverquery and press enter
  • It will now list out all the drivers on your PC
  • Done

Stop Your System Beeps

Do you get annoyed sometimes with all the beeps your computer makes? Well there is a quick registry tweak you can perform that will stop all your system beeps.

Remember to backup your registry before doing any edits!

  • Open regedit
  • Go to this location;
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Sound
  • Click on the key beep
  • Set the value to No
  • Close and done

Stop Task Scheduler From Running

If you are sick of the task scheduler running on your Windows Vista PC then here is a quick registry edit you can perform that will stop it from running;

  • Open up your regedit
  • Navigate to this location
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Schedule
  • Find the DWORD called start
  • Change its value from 2 to 4
  • Close and reboot your PC
  • The task scheduler will now be stopped

Remove Windows Media Player Components

Here is some quick registry tweaks that you can perform so that on you Windows Media Player you can remove these components;

  • Radio Bar
  • Media Favorite
  • Find New Station

Radio Bar

Just navigate to this location – HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Policies/Microsoft/WindowsMediaPlayer

  • Add a new DWORD
  • Name it NoRadioBar
  • Set the value to 1
  • Done

Media Favorite

Just navigate to this location – HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Policies/Microsoft/WindowsMediaPlayer

  • Add a new DWORD
  • Name it NoMediaFavorite
  • Set the value to 1
  • Done

Find New Station

Just navigate to this location – HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Policies/Microsoft/WindowsMediaPlayer

  • Add a new DWORD
  • Name it NoFindNewStation
  • Set the value to 1
  • Done
